Dragesund is a former partner of corporate finance at Pareto Securities, an independent full-service investment bank. He began his career as an analyst and rose through the ranks. As a senior partner, he was instrumental in growing the investment bank from 12 to 450 employees and expanding its locations internationally to 10 countries.

During his almost 30-year tenure, Dragesund’s team oversaw the public share listings of several high profile companies including shipping company Ulstein Group, Scottish Sea Farms co-owner Lerøy Seafood, Austevoll Seafood (which owns more than 52% of Lerøy), Grieg Seafood and aquaculture supplier AKVA Group.

Strategic builder

“Petter is a highly-respected strategic builder with an undeniable history of success,” said Seafood People managing director Thomas Bakke in a press release. “As we continue to partner with companies to achieve long term success, improve their balance sheet, or help them build high performing teams, adding Petter’s skill set to the GEAN further elevates our capabilities.”

“I look forward to focusing my time on an industry I believe is crucial to the global population. As the industry continues to mature and consolidate, I believe my decades of experience can provide critical insights to the seafood sector,” said Dragesund.
