A farmed salmon product from employee-owned processor Aquascot has been named the most loved product in the No.1 range sold by upmarket UK grocer Waitrose.

Aquascot’s No.1 500g Salmon Loin was given the Most Loved No.1 Product award on the basis of more than 1,200 favourable customer reviews and an average rating of 4.8 out of 5 stars.

“It’s a true testament to the consistent quality and dedication of our incredible team and partners,” Aquascot said in a post on LinkedIn.

Aquascot's salmon loin has been named as the most loved product in the Waitrose No.1 range which encompasses hundreds of food and drink items.

“A heartfelt thank you to Waitrose and all of our partners. This award is a testament to the passion and hard work that goes into delivering excellence every single day.”

Accolade for farms

Andrew Davie, head of aquaculture at Alness-based Aquascot, said in another post that the award was also an impressive vote of confidence in premium Scottish salmon from the discerning Waitrose clientele.

“We search high and low from Argyll to Unst and everywhere in between to source the best Scottish salmon. So, thank you to all the farms that put years of effort to raise their fish… without you this wouldn’t have been possible.”

Aquascot was one of six recipients of a Waitrose Supplier Award at the retailer’s Own Label Supplier Conference.
