This spot price has only been bettered in weeks 19 and 20 in 2018, when it reached NOK 79.16 / kg and NOK 78.53 / kg respectively.

Lower average in 2019

The average price paid for Norwegian salmon in 2019 ended at NOK 57.09 / kg, against NOK 59.26 / kg. This is the fourth best, beaten by the years before (2016, 2017, 2018).

Salmon of 8-9 kg achieved NOK 98.56 per kilo, although only 1.2% of the fish were in this size class.

Salmon grown in Scotland and the Faroes usually command slightly higher prices than Norwegian salmon.
