Record spot price for Norwegian salmon

The spot price of Norwegian salmon reached a record high of NOK 134.53 (£9.92) per kilo last week (week 14), increasing by NOK 8.38/kg from the previous week, according to industry statistics provider Akvafakta.

The price was NOK 8.00 higher than the previous record, which was set in week 11 2023, and NOK 23.79/kg higher than in the same week last year.

The average price so far this year is NOK 111.14/kg, compared to NOK 104.86/kg a year ago.

Norway exported 20,106 tonnes (round weight) of fresh salmon in week 14. That is 12.1% more than the same week last year (which was this year’s Easter week).

So far this year, Norway has exported 304,000 tonnes of salmon, 5.1% less than at the same time a year ago.
