The producer, which operates more than 60 sites across the west coast of Scotland and the Hebrides, is providing prize money for the ‘Heavy Events’, such as putting the shot and hurling the hammer.

Meanwhile, in the run up to the event, which takes place on July 16th, SSC staff will lend a hand to help organisers set up and prepare the grounds. Visitors will also have the opportunity to sample some of SSC’s fresh Scottish salmon.

Craig Anderson, Managing Director of SSC, said: “We are passionate about supporting rural communities and the Lochcarron Games is a celebration of one of our country’s oldest traditions. These particular Games hold a special place in our hearts, as they are located on the great west coast, where many of our staff live and work, to produce the finest sea loch, fresh salmon.”

Maureen Brown, Chair of the Lochcarron Games Association, said: “We’re delighted to have The Scottish Salmon Company involved in the Games again this year – it’s great to be able to partner with a neighbouring business for our community’s most important annual event. The event is run entirely by volunteers and every penny raised goes back in to the community to support local groups.”
