Pharmaq Analytiq said in a press release that the merger creates the world’s leading player in fish diagnostics – to be called Pharmaq Analytiq  - and will increase its aquaculture analysis capacity in Norway, the UK, Ireland and Chile.

“We are happy to complete the integration and as one company can offer innovative management tools for better fish health and welfare,” said Nils Arne Grønlie, senior director operations for Pharmaq and general manager of Pharmaq Analytiq.

“Our comprehensive product and service portfolio will be important for a healthier and more sustainable future for the aquaculture industry.”

Considerable competence

Pharmaq Analytiq has operations in all the largest salmon and trout producing countries, and offers veterinary services, diagnostic services and environmental services including histopathology, PCR, microbiology, environmental analysis and echography.

“The companies have built up considerable competence when it comes to various analysis services for the aquaculture sector and point to solid growth in recent years,” said its commercial director, Jan Petter Berg.

“We look forward to developing new tools and sharing knowledge that will help promote good fish health in fish farms around the world. Our common goal is to be a leading knowledge company in diagnostics for the aquaculture sector.”

The merger has led to a more streamlined production at laboratories in Bergen, Oslo and Rørvik, the company said.
