Speaking to El Mercurio, Barros said that this law is needed to be able to reorder the salmon industry in Chile, "and we have a clear position about it. We want to launch the salmon industry 2.0 once and for all, but we need the legal support. If this law is not approved, the most affected ones will be the workers".

Consulted about his evaluation of the work made by the Government so far, el president of SalmonChile said that the "Salmon Committee", which is led by Felipe Sandoval, who assumed as executive secretary has done an "extraordinary job. This committee has gather the most important topics of the environmental organizations, but this has been muddied because of the pre-election period (parliamentary) of this year. We have seen attitudes that has privileged personal purposes beyond the common good of the country and the industry.
