Aiming for 1lb smolts

Bakkafrost’s board has today approved the construction of a new hatchery in a bid to increase the size of their smolts to 400-500g each by 2019.

The new DKK 650 million (£68m) facility will be located at Strond, in Klaksvík, and is planned to be finished in 2018.
