Trio of trout farms certified

Biselli Farm, Freddara di Norcia Farm and Sefro Farm, all owned by the Azienda Agricola Troticoltura Erede Rossi Silvio, are the second set of farms globally to achieve ASC certification against the ASC Freshwater Trout Standard. The farms were awarded ASC certification following an independent assessment by third party certifier Bureau Veritas Denmark.

In Germany, the quality seafood brand Gottfried Friedrichs has launched a responsibly farmed trout caviar product this month, 'Forellen-Caviar von Gottfried Friedrichs', sourced from the three Erede Rossi Silvio Group's certified farms.

Erede Rossi Silvio Group has a total of 12 farms, with a yearly production of around 5,000 tonnes, which is distributed to Italy and other European countries such as Belgium, Germany, France, and the Netherlands.

Six more trout farms - four Italian and two Danish - are currently under assessment against the ASC Freshwater Trout Standard.
