New planning software presented
The Director and Head of R&D of the Australian based company PanLogica Pty. Ltd., Dr. David Wright (photo), explained that this software shows the optimal forecast as situations change. These projections can be driven by market demands, pushed by supply driven imperatives or a combination of both.
By this, Neptune claims to be a platform for co-operation and uniting all aspects of the business which frees management from overwhelming detail, handling the huge complexity of aquaculture in seconds.
Dr. David Wright also commented that his clients have used this software –among other tasks- to optimise production capabilities (e.g. smolt stocking and quotas) so as to fit a sales plan; optimise eligibility so that their customer requirements can be met at the lowest feed cost; optimise neighborhood usage that is subject to fallowing to ensure availability and maximise utilisation; to determine the utilisation and return on investment of new farm sites and new VA processing facilities; and to determine the price sensitivity of a new product line.
This software is available in English and the company is currently working to translate it into Spanish.
