Norway’s salmon spot price slips back

The spot price of Norwegian-produced salmon price fell slightly last week and ended below NOK 60 per kilo.

Norway’s salmon industry statistics provider, Akvafakta, said the price in week 25 fell by NOK 2.43 per kilo to NOK 58.34 (£4.90), which is NOK 1.75 lower than during the corresponding week last year.

The average salmon price for the year so far is now NOK 57.45 per kilo, compared to NOK 62.89 per kilo over the same period in 2020.

Norway exported 27,558 tonnes of salmon (round weight) in week 25. This is 19.2% more than in the same week last year.

So far this year, Norway has exported 634,000 tonnes of salmon, 16.9% more than last year.
