Bakkafrost harvested 24,900 tonnes in Q3

Faroese farmer also sold 37,800 tonnes of feed

Faroese salmon farmer Bakkafrost harvested 24,900 gutted weight tonnes in the third quarter of this year in the Faroes and Scotland, it said in a market update today.

Bakkafrost harvested 16,800 gwt in the Faroes and 8,100 gwt in Scotland.

In the Faroes, the harvest split was:

  • Farming North 8,700 gwt
  • Farming West 5,700 gwt
  • Farming South 2,500 gwt

In Scotland, the company harvested 3,000 gwt in its northern region and 5,100 gwt in the south.

Feed sales in Q3 2022 were 37,800 tonnes. Bakkafrost’s feed division, Havsbrún, sourced 76,100 tonnes of raw materials in Q3 2022.
