Bakkafrost harvests 12,900 tonnes in Q2

Bakkafrost, the biggest of the three salmon farmers operating in the Faroes, harvested 12,900 tonnes in the second quarter of 2018, the company said in a trading update today.

The volume is considerably smaller than in Q2 2017, when Bakkafrost harvesed 18,400 tonnes.

All of the fish were harvested in the company’s Farming North region. Volumes are provided in head on gutted (HOG) equivalents.

Feed sales by Bakkafrost’s feed arm, Havsbrún, amounted to 15,700 tonnes in Q2 2018. Havsbrún sourced 118,400 tonnes of raw materials in the period.

The company’s half-yearly report will be released on 21 August.
