Scottish Salmon Company harvested 33,800 tonnes in 2019

The Scottish Salmon Company produced 33,800 tonnes of fish (head on gutted) last year, according to a trading update.

The volume, which includes 7,900 tonnes in the fourth quarter, was the second highest by a Scotland-farmer, behind Mowi, and demonstrates SSC’s value to its new owner, Bakkafrost.

The Faroese salmon farmer harvested 57,200 tonnes (HOG) in the Faroe Islands in 2019, including 18,000 tonnes in Q4.

The volume of feed sold by Bakkafrost’s feed operation, Havsbrún, was 28,400 tonnes. Havsbrún sourced 35,200 tonnes of raw materials in Q4 2019.

Bakkafrost’s full Q4 2019 report will be released on February 25.
