PO prepares for seafood celebration
2015 has been branded the ‘Year of Food & Drink’ and October has been set aside specifically for events that highlight Scottish seafood – an opportunity that the PO intends to make the most of.
Amongst other events, the organisation will take part in the Showcasing Scotland event, hosted by Scottish Development International (SDI), which is taking place at Gleneagles hotel on 6-9th October. Two member companies are taking part and there will be tour of several farm sites offered to a select group of seafood buyers on 8th October.
The SSPO will also co-host its first ever tweet up with Scotland Food and Drink (#ScotFood) on 5th October, using the organisation’s consumer-focused social media channel @LoveScotSalmon and possibly its community-focused handle @ptfss.
Furthermore, the organisation will once again be one of the key sponsors of the annual Master Chefs of Great Britain lunch, which is taking place at Prestonfield House Hotel on 19th October. Shetland salmon, provided by SSPO members, is set to feature on the menu.
