Published Modified

The Fraserburgh site in Scotland, which includes Kilron and Spey Valley, will become the Centre of Excellence for whitefish processing and packing. This will be in addition to the site’s existing capabilities in regards to ready-to-eat seafood. Plans also include renaming the site from Macrae to Young’s Fraserburgh.

The second site will be located at Young's Marsden Road facility in Grimsby and will house Young’s Centre of Excellence for natural salmon. A new site director will need to recruited.

Pete Ward, deputy chief executive of Young’s Seafood, said: “In 2012, as part of the company’s move to a business unit structure, the Fraserburgh Cluster was established to bring together our non-dedicated chilled processing activities.

“This move provided great insight into the core capabilities of our non-dedicated chilled sites and their respective costs and strengths.”
