Vaccine sales down

Up to the end of July total sales to S0s, however, were approximately 8% above last year. By the end of August, this reduced to + 2.5%, with 140.1 million doses given to this year's S0s compared to 136.6 million doses at the same time last year.

Traditionally, some vaccinations of S0s are also expected in September, but the largest fraction of vaccine sales usually goes to S1-vaccination. The total release of S0s 2013 ended at 135 million salmon smolts compared to 127.5 million smolts in 2012 (source: Kontali Analysis).

August sales to trout ended at 3.1 million doses, compared to 3.9 million doses in August 2013. The twelve months' rolling sales of vaccines to trout are 22.5 million doses or 6.5 % of total vaccine sales. In August, 11.7 million doses of PD-vaccine were sold, compared to 14.0 million doses in August 2013.

August sales to marine fish totalled 930,000 doses, compared to 200,000 doses in the same month last year. The majority of sales were for specific injection vaccines for lump fish.
