Vaccination of Atlantic salmon as expected

Accumulated sales to the S1s 2013 are estimated to 139 million vaccine doses when 21 million doses in September 2012 are calculated as vaccination of S1s 2013 (source: Kontali analyse). The corresponding figure for the S1 2012 generation at the same time was 133 million vaccine doses. In 2012 the S1 production ended at 154.5 million smolts (source Kontali analyse).

Vaccine sales to trout in January were 2.0 million doses compared to 1.6 million doses in January 2012. Further, it was ordered 6.5 million doses of the PD-vaccine in January 2013 compared to 8.1 million doses in January last year. It was just ordered 5,000 doses of vaccine for farmed cod this month against 220,000 doses in January 2012. In consideration of the difficult situation for the farmed cod industry a significant reduction in vaccine sales is expected in 2013.
