Two new escape incidents in May

According to the statistics, 8700 salmon escaped from Loch Duart's site at Loch A Chaim Bhain in the Highlands on the 30 May 2012. The size of the fish was about 2.5kg. The company said a predator had caused the incident. So far this year 11,900 salmon have escaped in three separate incidents.

On the 28 May 2012, 3056 small trout (415g) managed to escape at Braevallich Fish farm in Strathclyde, which is owned by Dawnfresh Farming in. The reason for this escape was sited as a human error. 3434 trout have escaped so far this year in two separate incidents.
