Two local companies lead Chilean salmon exports
According to data published by the Export Promotion Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (ProChile), the remaining companies in a top ten ranking of exporters are Marine Harvest Chile (US$ 115.50 million), Pesquera Los Fiordos (US$ 92.15 million), Salmones Antártica (US$ 91.26 million), Blumar (US$ 86.67 million), Trusal (US$ 79.76 million), Australis Mar (US$ 74.79 million) and Invertec Pequera Mar de Chiloé with US$ 74.01 million.
Other relevant results were obtained by Acuinova (US$ 64.95 million), Cultivos Marinos Chiloé (US$ 63.42 million),Ventisqueros (US$ 62.53 million), Granja Marina Tornagaleones (US$ 59.40 million), Salmones Camanchaca (US$ 59.26 million), Salmones de Chile (US$ 45.72 million), Salmones Pacific Star (US$ 42.81 million), Salmones Aysén (US$ 37.20 million), Caleta Bay (US$ 33.24 million), Salmones Cupquelán (US$ 30.31 million), Salmones FrioSur (US$ 21.70 million), and Salmones Humboldt, which exported US$ 19.15 million in the first seven months of this year.
The results of AquaChile were obtained after a combination of the exported figures of AquaChile, Salmones Chiloé and Aguas Claras, companies controlled by the same owners, similar to what happens with the results of Marine Harvest Chile, which were obtained after adding the results of Marine Harvest Chile and Delifish.
