Salmon industry increased the Chilean industrial production
The National Institute for Statistics (INE) published the increase rates achieved by the local industrial production and sales in January. The industrial production increased 4% and the industrial sales increased 3.9% compared to January 2009. However, experts expected a higher improvement – closer to 4.5%, reports the Chilean newspaper La Tercera.
According to the INE, the salmon industry holds significant responsibility for these improved results, especially because of an increased production of Coho salmon and rainbow trout in Chile.
