Odebret also commented that the future of the Chiloé Island must be projected together with the industry growth. He added that efficient maritime and land transportation could ensure industrial competitiveness in the area.
A dozen salmon processing plants operate in the Chiloé Island. These facilities receive most of the fish produced in the surroundings of the island and they also process salmon from farming sites located in the Region of Aysén.
