As of today, those who infringe any of the 54 voluntary standards agreed by its associates are denounced to the rest of the companies and asked for explanations. According to the financial journal Diario Financiero, SalmonChile is currently working in some statute modifications that might include the creation of a ‘court of discipline’ aimed to the establishment and charge of fines against infringers.

Allegedly, the fines' cost would depend on the severity of the faults and might be set between USD 7,000 and USD 150,000. Besides, according to the newspaper El Mercurio in extreme cases an expulsion from the association could be considered.

Until now, it seems that this is only a proposal that might be voted on May 7th during the next general assembly of SalmonChile.
