Norwegian company Aquaservice, which expanded into the UK last year, has now extended its reach to Chile by appointing a country manager, Andrea Catalan-Hernandez, who was previously head of business equipment Chile at ScaleAQ.

Aquaservice specialises in HDPE (high-density polyethylene)-based fish transport and water treatment equipment. Catalan-Hernandez will have overall responsibility for sales and customer relations in Chile, with a particular focus on the Aquatrans fish transport valve, Aquafilter products, the Static Mixer and the Pool Line products.

Catalan-Hernandez's focus areas will include the Aquatrans fish transfer valve.

20 years in aquaculture

Catalan-Hernandez has 20 years’ experience in the aquaculture industry, specialising in sales and customer service. She studied business administration at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez and Universidad de Los Lagos, and holds diplomas in organisational and commercial management.

“We are very excited about this appointment. Aquaservice has long been considering establishing a permanent presence in Chile. Andrea is a perfect fit for us, given her experience, knowledge and in-depth understanding of the Chilean aquaculture market. We see enormous potential in this market,” said Aquaservice managing director Asgeir Skogstad in a press release.

Catalan-Hernandez said Aquaservice’s products, experience, and approach “provide a very solid foundation for becoming a key player in the Chilean market for fish transport and water treatment equipment”.

Aquaservice entered the UK market in 2025, with the establishment of Aquaservice Water Engineering UK Ltd in Oxfordshire.
