Feed protein producer names new operations director

Hamlet Protein, which produces soy-based ingredients and fibre specialties for aquafeed and animal feed, has announced the appointment of food industry professional Lars Petersen as operations director.

Petersen will be based at the company’s headquarters in Horsens, Denmark, and be responsible for Hamlet Protein’s plants in Denmark and the United States, along with procurement, and the company’s laboratories. He will also help drive Hamlet Protein’s sustainability agenda, the company said in a press release.

Petersen is a graduate from the University of Southern Denmark, alumnus of the Copenhagen Business School, and MBA graduate from Brunel University in the UK. He has an international background and a broad experience in operational functions with companies including Good Food Group, Rynkeby Foods, and Harboefarm.

Direct impact

The company’s chief executive Erik Visser said: “Hamlet Protein has always been focused on optimising production processes and driving efficiencies throughout our supply chain.
