Norwegian salmon spot price fell by 9.2% last week

The spot price of market-dominating Norwegian farmed salmon decreased by NOK 8.04 (£0.60) per kilo - 9.2% - last week (week 3), down to NOK 79.6/kg, according to sector statistics provider Akvafakta.

That price is NOK 18.3/kg lower than the same week last year.

The average spot price so far this year is NOK 87.56/kg, compared to the equivalent of NOK 112.82/kg a year ago.

Exports

According to the Norwegian Seafood Council, Norway exported 30,734 tonnes (round weight) of salmon in week 3. This is 16% more than the same week in 2025.

So far this year, 67,939 tonnes of salmon have been exported, compared to 61,724 tonnes in the same period a year ago.

Feed

Last year (through week 52), 2.31 million tons of salmon and trout feed were sold. That was 8% more than in 2024.

The trend in the last four weeks of last year was 8% up from the volume sold in the same period in 2024.
