AKVA chief Muri quits after three years in role
Hallvard Muri, the chief executive of aquaculture supplier AKVA has resigned after exactly three years in the job, the company announced today.
AKVA chairperson Knut Nesse has been appointed interim chief executive. Nesse is a former chief executive of feed manufacturers Skretting and Nutreco.
To allow the switch, Nesse has resigned from the board of directors. Hans Kristian Mong becomes the new chairperson.
‘A great company’
Prior to joining becoming AKVA chief executive on November 4, 2016, Muri was chief executive of Aker BioMarine AS.
In a press release from AKVA, Muri said: “After serving as CEO for three years, I believe it is time to pass on the leadership of AKVA, and let others take on the challenge developing AKVA further. AKVA is a great company with a strong position, and potential for the future.
“I would like to thank the Board of Directors, the management team and all the employees for the time I have had in the company, and I wish them all the best for the future”.
Mong said: “AKVA has grown strongly and gone through a positive development the last three years, and on behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to thank Mr Muri for his continued dedication and hard work in this period.”
AKVA last week reported third-quarter profits, revenue and orders that were all better than in Q3 2018.
