Observe, through partnership with AKVA, has sold and delivered its artificial intelligence (AI) feeding solutions to more than 20 farm sites in five different countries.

With the new agreement, AKVA and Observe will continue to develop and leverage their complementary technologies and solutions using AI to partner with customers to improve fish performance, AKVA said.

Behaviour analysis

London-based Observe developed a software package that uses AI to make salmon feeding more efficient by learning how fish behave and respond in individual pens, and linked up with AKVA group Scotland in 2018 to market the product as AKVA Observe.

The software, branded AKVA Observe, not only counts visible feed pellets but also completes a detailed analysis of the fish behaviour, information that identifies risk situations and helps the operator to optimise feeding.

It can be integrated with existing hardware on the site, regardless of whether or not that is AKVA equipment.
