Norway exported its fifth-highest volume of salmon ever last week
Norway exported 38,289 tonnes (round weight) of salmon last week, the fifth largest weekly volume ever exported. Ths volume was up 3.3% from the previous week, and was 5.6% higher than in the same week (week 42) last year.
So far this year, Norway has exported 1.28 million tonnes of salmon, 15.9% more than at the same time in 2024.
Spot price
Despite the increase in volume, the spot price also went up - although by only NOK 0.62 - to 71.44 NOK per kilo. That price was NOK 0.45 above the price in the same week last year.
The average spot price so far this year is NOK 75.82/kg, compared to NOK 95.30 in the same period last year.
Feed
As of week 40, 1.72 million tonnes of salmon and trout feed had been sold in Norway. Feed sale volumes are a useful indicator of the volume of fish in the water.
The trend for the last four weeks (37-40) is 5% up from the same weeks in 2024.
