Norwegian seafood export up 10 percent
By the end of February 2009, the export value of Norwegian seafood so far this year exceeded 7 billion NOK, compared with the first two months in 2008.
Increased prices on salmon, herring and mackrel is the most important factors behind the increased export value. Salmon alone stand for 3 billion NOK after the first two months in 2009, thats up 11 percent compared with the same periode in 2008. The Export Council reports that a stabil demand and prices in all major markets. The export to France, Sweden and Poland increased most, while there were a slight reduction in the export to Denmark and GB.
