MH faces environmental charges
According to a report recently published by the SMA, lots of non-compliances were found in the farm ‘Isla Guar’, including: presence of a storage platform next to the site which was not included in the original project; debris and chunks of HDEP pipes on the seabed under the platform; and absence of an annual certification regarding safety conditions of the farming module and mooring system.
The indictment is the beginning of a sanction procedure established by the SMA. Meanwhile, Marine Harvest has ten days to file a compliance programme or 15 days to make rebuttals, after which the sanction process continues.
