MH Chile got better results than expected
According to the CEO of Marine Harvest ASA, Åse Aulie Michelet, this results’ improvement –together with positive outcomes in other divisions- contributed to improve profitability in the whole company.
On the other hand, the reduced harvest volumes in the Chilean subsidiary added to some currency effects caused a significant reduction in the Marine Harvest ASA operating revenues, which decreased from NOK 4,042 million (USD 687 million) in 2008 to NOK 3,767 million (USD 640.3 million) last year.
In 2008, Marine Harvest was the second largest salmon producer in Chile with exports for USD 280 million.
