Norway salmon price drop halted
After five straight weeks of price declines, it stabilised last week. Volumes remain high.
According to sector statsitics provider Akvafakta, the spot price of market-dominating Norwegian farmed salmon rose slightly in week 17 by NOK 0.41/kg, up to NOK 72.71 (£5.76) per kilo.
However, this is NOK 12.30/kg below the same week a year ago.
The average spot price so far this year is NOK 84.58/kg, compared to NOK 89.96/kg at the same time last year.
Exports
According to the Norwegian Seafood Council, 28,222 tonnes (round weight) of salmon were exported from Norway in week 17, approximately 4% above the same week in 2025.
So far this year, 454,000 tonnes (round weight) of salmon have been exported, 5% more than at the same time a year ago.
Cod
According to the Seafood Council, Norway exported 270 tonnes of farmed cod (round weight) at a price of NOK 75.84/kg in week 17.
Volume is practically the same as the week before, but 8% less than the same week in 2025.
So far this year, 4,958 tonnes (round weight) of farmed cod have been exported at an average price of NOK 73.98/kg, 16% down in volume and 12% up in price compared to the same period last year.
