Salmon prices leapt last week
The price of Norwegian-produced fish reached its highest point since January
The spot price of Norwegian farmed salmon rose by NOK 8.88 per kilo to NOK 95.07 (£6.95) per kilo last week (week 50), according to sector statistics provider Akvafakta.
This is the best price since January, and is NOK 9.71 per kilo above the price in the same week a year ago.
The average spot price for the year so far is NOK 76.63/kg, compared to NOK 92.42/kg at the same time in 2024.
Exports
Norway exported 37,093 tonnes (round weight) of salmon last week. This is up almost 8% from the previous week, but 0.2% lower than the same week last year. The volume is the highest since mid-October.
As of week 50, Norway has exported 1.56 million tonnes of salmon in 2025, 12.4% more than the same period a year ago.
Feed
As of week 49, 2.19 million tonnes of salmon and trout feed have been sold. This is 8% more than at the same time in 2024.
