Young’s and Foodvest receive top environmental awards

The Rt. Hon Pat McFadden, Secretary of State for Employee Relations, presented the trophies to the winners of this year’s BCE Awards, one of the longest running and most prestigious environmental schemes in the UK. The overall winner was Innocent Drinks, receiving the Sir Peter Parker Award (named after the founder of the BCE Awards) for its work in developing a 100% recycled plastic bottle. Young’s was the only food manufacturer amongst the top flight in this year’s awards – as parent company Foodvest received a Major Commendation for the Fish for Life fishery protection programme, which started with Young’s and has now rolled out across the whole Foodvest Group. Mike Parker, deputy CEO of Foodvest, says, “We are absolutely delighted that Fish for Life has received further recognition in these prestigious awards, particularly so soon after we also received our Business in the Community Big Tick. It’s good both for our own industry and the wider business community that sustainable seafood gets a national platform through events such as this - alongside other important environmental projects.”
