David Jarron, the company’s main consultant and salesman for many years, has now moved to Edinburgh to set up the new company’s office, taking care of all day-to-day operations and customer support.

David, who is originally from Scotland but has spent the last 15 years in Iceland, has embraced the new role.

“It’s part of our bigger plan to restructure and expand,” he told Fish Farming Expert this morning, “and we want to be closer to our customers. Scotland is where some of our longest serving customers are based and I’ll be in charge of customer support, sales and marketing, while the technical assistance and repairs will still be carried out by Mohn Aqua.

“Our main product is the Biomass Daily, and we’ll now be on hand to help our customers use it and exploit it to its full potential – essentially a training and consultancy type role, as well as an element of product development.

“I’ll also be bringing in more people over time as the company becomes established.”

Vaki’s Scottish sister company joins its Norwegian and Chilean equivalents, meaning that it now has a home base and local representatives in all three of its main aquaculture markets.
