Slight price increase for Chilean Trim-D in the USA
Christian Pérez The average price of US$ 4.64 per pound in the week 45/2013 is 28.2 percent higher than that seen in the first week of 2013 (US$ 3.62). Besides, the price of this product has increased 48.7 percent compared to the price observed in the same week of the previous year (US$ 3.12). However, the higher price recorded this year by the Chilean Trim-D salmon fillet C+F* in Miami was US$ 5,61 in the week 24. A similar situation occurs with the caliber 10-12 head-on salmon in Brazil. According to the weekly report published by SalmonEx, this product has shown a 45.5 percent increase so far this year, from US$ 4.55 per Kg in the first week of 2013 to US$ 6.62 per Kg in the week 45/2013. In this case, the higher price was US$ 7,56 and registered in the week 25. In the Japanese market, the Coho Salmon showed the same price than last week and marked 615 yen/kg, low activity on this market by the importers. The trout again showed an increase and marked an historic 800 yen/kg, 10 cents higher than last week. The stocks of September in Japan are under the 100,000 tonnes and for the first time in many years it doesn´t produce an increase. This situation will increase in the future with low trout and Coho production, which is the main destination market.
