
Salmon harvests increased 17% up to July
A comparison of results itemized by species shows an 43.0 percent increase in the Atlantic salmon harvests from 133.340 tonnes to 190.713 tonnes; a 10.1 percent decrease in the Rainbow trout harvests to 117.770 tonnes; and a 21.9 percent increase in the Coho salmon harvests to 45.328 tonnes.
Regarding local roe production, Chile had an inventory stock of 483.7 million eggs in the seventh month of this year: 52.2 per cent of Atlantic salmon eggs, 23.7 percent of Rainbow trout eggs and 24 percent of Coho salmon eggs. Meanwhile, roe imports totalized 64.9 million up to July 2012, separated in 58.9 per cent of Rainbow trout eggs and 41.1 per cent of Atlantic salmon eggs.
