
Salmon harvests decreased 48% as of September
A comparison of results itemized by specie shows a 58% decrease in the Atlantic salmon harvests from 169,960 tonnes to 71,325 tonnes; a 27.4% drop in the Rainbow trout harvests down to 82,049 tonnes; and a 62.1% decrease in the Coho salmon harvests down to 14,333 tonnes.
Regarding to local roe stocks, they totalized 111.7 million units in September 2010: 73.5% of Atlantic salmon eggs, 25.9% of Rainbow trout, and 0.6% eggs of Coho salmon eggs. Meanwhile, roe imports totalized 78.1 million as of September, separated in 36.2% of Atlantic salmon eggs and 63.8% of Rainbow trout eggs.
