According to the monthly report of external trade published by the National Customs Service, in the case of salmon (Atlantic and Coho) this increase is explained by a strong rise in the exported volume (111% or 11 000 extra tonnes) which was able to compensate a decrease in price (-16%) within the same period.

Regarding Rainbow trout, there were no major changes, since the higher price in the period (15%) was balanced with a lower exported volume (-14% or 1,758 less tonnes).

Japan was the largest market for trout, concentrating 73% of the exports and followed by USA with 9%. Likewise, USA was the largest market for salmon (39%) followed by Japan and Brazil, with a 21% and 14% share respectively.
