According to the monthly report of external trade published by the National Customs Service, in the case of salmon (Atlantic and Coho) this increase is explained by a strong rise in the exported volume (+49% or 11 000 extra tonnes) which was able to compensate a decrease in price (-4%) within the same period.

Regarding Rainbow trout, there were no major changes, since the higher price (+8%) was just balanced with a lower exported volume (-17% or 2,155 less tonnes).

Japan was the largest market for trout, concentrating 67% of the exports and followed by USA with 8% and China with 7%. Likewise, USA was the largest market for salmon (48%) followed by Japan and Brazil, with a 24% and 10% share respectively.
