Published Modified

The report takes into account production figures from the Faroe Islands, France, Iceland, Ireland, Norway and the UK and shows the total salmon production from these six territories has risen from 716,321 tonnes in 2004 to 1,440,868 tonnes in 2013.

The two largest increases occurred in the Faroe Islands – where production has increased from 33,600 tonnes to 76,480 tonnes – and Norway, where production levels rose from 512,000 tonnes to 1,195,000 tonnes.

Meanwhile UK production remained fairly stable, despite some fluctuations, starting at 150,000 and ending the period on 154,078 tonnes.

Production levels in France and Iceland both fell – from 700 to 300 tonnes and 6020 to 4010 tonnes respectively.
