New fish farming show is a sell out

The new international aquaculture exhibition and conference is said to be a response to the wishes of major players in the industry, who wanted a move back to the heartland of the Scottish aquaculture business. With five months to go, all the original exhibition space has been booked and the organisers have had to put on temporary additional space. That too is almost all sold, they said.

The show is expected to attract international visitors from over 20 countries, all coming to see the latest products and innovations in the industry. In parallel with the exhibition, Aquaculture UK 2008 will run a series of relevant seminars and workshops, which will, amongst other things, look at the future for shellfish culture in the UK and opportunities for farming of new species.

David Mack, of organisers Ascomber Ltd, said that the interest created by the move back to the Highlands has been overwhelming and he expects record crowds for the event.
