Most of the Chilean trout went to Japan in November
According to the monthly report of external trade published by the National Customs Service, the Chilean exports of salmon and trout totalized US$ 2,606,9 million in the first eleven months of this year, representing a 1 percent increase compared to the same period of 2011, when the industry had returns of US$ 2,583.8 million.
Those returns from salmon exports (Atlantic and Coho) have recorded a 19 percent decrease in November 2012, explained because the slightly higher exported volume (around 3,000 extra tonnes) could not offset the strong decrease experienced in the average declared price (-26%).
Likewise, the rainbow trout exports experienced a 33 percent decrease in November this year, explained by the same reason: those 706 extra tonnes exported this month could not offset the lower declared price in the period (-37%).
