The World Aquaculture Society – Asian Pacific Chapter (WAS-APC) has announced its awards programme for World Aquaculture Singapore 2026 (WA2026) that will be held at the Singapore EXPO Convention and Exhibition Centre from June 2-5.
The awards aim to recognise and support excellence in aquaculture research, innovation, and engagement, particularly among students and women in the field.
The four categories for awards are pre-conference student travel grants, presentation/poster cash prizess for students, women’s participation travel grants, and a professional merit trophy.
$400 for travel
The student travel awards offer prizes of US $400 each for three recipients, and will be given to students judged to have submitted the best abstracts for the conference.
The presentation/poster awards are for the best oral and e-poster presentations delivered during the event. There are first and second place prizes of $600 and $400 in each category.
Two $600 travel grants will be awarded to women in aquaculture under the women’s participation travel awards.
Nominations are being sought for the professional merit award, a new award that will honour up to two individuals who have made a significant positive impact on aquaculture in Asia. Self-nomination is allowed.
