IceFish event doubles size of conference programme

Published

The organisers of Iceland’s IceFish Conference have announced that the programme will double in size this year and co-locate with the IceFish Exhibition at Fifan-Smárinn Halls, in Kópavogur, Reykjavík.

The expanded programme features two conferences, 100% Fish for Profit, formerly Fish Waste for Profit, and Aquaculture, Driving Sustainable Growth, a new event taking place on day one of IceFish, on September 22. 100% Fish for Profit will return with a packed one and half day programme on days two and three, September 23-24.

The IceFish conference organisers will be working in close collaboration with the Icelandic Ocean Cluster on conference content and chairing.

100% Fish for Profit explores how to unlock value from every part of the catch, transforming the whole fish into high-value products across a range of markets. The event brings together owners, chief executives, and leaders from the fishing, aquaculture, and processing sectors, as well as supply-chain partners, to discover new innovations, gain industry insights, and connect with key stakeholders.

Iceland’s efforts to use of 100% of caught fish is the inspiration for the Scottish Ocean Cluster, which aims to treble the value of the country’s seafood industry sidestreams and recently appointed a project manager to drive the initiative forward.

Driving aquaculture growth

The Aquaculture – Driving Sustainable Growth Conference will bring together Iceland’s leading aquaculture operators, innovators, and policymakers alongside international experts shaping the future of the sector. This one-day event will highlight Iceland’s strengths as a global hub for aquaculture while exploring the technologies, sustainable production practices, and forward-looking strategies that will enable responsible growth domestically and across international markets.

Delegates can book to attend the individual conferences or attend the whole programme. In addition to the range of learning and networking opportunities there will be easy and complimentary access to all three days of the IceFish Exhibition, a long running and well-respected exhibition, first held in 1984. The exhibition offers a proven platform to build business networks and to learn the latest in the fisheries, value added and processing industries, as well as the rapidly developing aquaculture sector.

Companies, organisations, and individuals are now invited to submit abstracts for the Conferences. For further information and registration, visit IceFish Conferences.
