Thermolicer joins the fray

The boat has been specially designed for the purpose and was fitted at Sletta Boatyard in Aure in Nordmøre. It will be able to treat about 200 tonnes of salmon per hour – equating to several cages a day.

“This is one of four drug-free systems we will have in operation this year, and we are convinced that this resource will be an effective tool in the fight against lice,” says Orjan Tveiten, Regional Director of Marine Harvest.

“We have chosen to set up the system with two types of pumps, for maximum power and flexibility,” says Anders Saether, leader for quality and technology in Marine Harvest region Central.

The vessel, which is leased from Frøy Akvaressurs, will be based in Central Norway, between Hustadvika and Vikna, and will be operated by a crew of seven.
