The share issue was fully underwritten by a group of institutional investors, who will buy 7,983,721 offer shares. The other 10,900,594 offer shares are being bought by subscribers other than the investors’ group.

Together with an earlier private placement of shares, The Kingfish Company has raised gross proceeds of approximately €35 m.

The Kingfish Company has capacity to produce 1,500 tonnes of yellowtail kingfish (Seriola lalandi) at its Kingfish Zeeland recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) facility in the Netherlands and is completing work to expand that to 3,500 tonnes in the current quarter.

Its subsidiary, Kingfish Maine, has secured all required permissions to build an 8,500 tonnes-per-year on-land RAS facility in Jonesport, Maine, in the north-eastern United States.
