Tangvik lands key Scottish role

Scottish Sea Farms appointed a new Freshwater Production Manager, Pal Tangvik, earlier this month. The 51 year-old joins the company from Lerøy – one of the Norwegian companies that owns Scottish Sea Farms – with 25 years of aquaculture experience. His remit is to manage all of the freshwater production for Scottish Sea Farms, including six sites, and manage 45 members of staff. Jim Gallagher, Managing Director at Scottish Sea Farms, said: “We are delighted to have secured Pal to lead our freshwater activities going forward. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will help us make improvements and he will lead the future investment and production strategy in Scottish Sea Farms’ freshwater activities.” Tangvik, who is based at South Shian, near Oban, said: “I saw this role as an excellent opportunity to share my experience and to learn more about the aquaculture industry in Scotland. I am also looking forward to improving my English and learning about Scotland’s culture.”
