Norway's salmon spot price still on the rise

Cost per kilo jumped by NOK 5.32 last week

The spot price for Norwegian salmon rose by NOK 5.32/kg to NOK 67.61/kg (£5.68) last week (week 40), according to industry statistics provider Akvafakta. This price that is NOK 14.69/kg above the same week last year.

In five weeks, the price has risen by NOK 11.30 from 2022’s lowest price in week 35.

The average spot price so far this year is NOK 84.52/kg, compared to NOK 56.35/kg a year ago.

Export price

The export price (average price product weight FOB border) was NOK 70.93 in week 40, down by NOK 0.42.

Norway exported 35,258 tonnes (round weight) of salmon in week 40. That is 2.3% more than the same week in 2021.

So far this year, Norway has exported 1.06 million tonnes of salmon, 2.9% less than at the same time last year.
